Hero Beach Club

Just got back from amazing 3 night stay at Hero beach club. It was the most perfect getaway from the city that I ever had. We arrived on Sunday around noon our room wasn’t ready but front desk was super nice and showed us around. We changed in swimwear and went straight in the beach which is across from hotel, on the beach they had bead bags/umbrellas and towels. We spend 5 amazing hrs by the ocean, and the location of the hotel is so perfect it feels like it has a private beach( just couple other people from Hero) it felt like paradise and I couldn’t believe it’s so close to nyc. After the beach we went to our room and wow. It was all I could dream about. We had terrace with ocean view and of course you could hear the waves which made us so special. The room we stayed had one king bed that was very comfortable and queen with divider which would be perfect for 2+ ppl also. Everything was very modern and the room had everything needed(fridge, lots of complimentary skincare/ hairdryer) . Bathrooms are also super comfortable and felt like a luxury resort. In the evening we took bikes from hotel and went to the town that is super close by walking or biking. Town is very cute and has everything LI has to offer. Sleeping with waves was magical. Next day was windy for the beach but they had an amazing pool that I spent all day working on my tan) room service/front desk are super nice. The place is clean and comfortable. Location is amazing, we didn’t have car and we didn’t need it at all. In the morning they did coffee and pastries at the lobby that was delicious, each evening we spent by fire pits with wine. I just got back but already dreaming about next visit at Hero. I have been in other part of Hamptons but montauk stole my heart and hero beach club was a bit part of it. They literary have everything you need!

Staff is very nice. The common areas are enjoyable. The beach nearby is good and clean. Pool is relaxing. Location is accessible. Agree. Too expensive for what is offered. Better for guests in their 20s. Downsides: Agree. Do not book a first floor room. You can hear people moving - just walking. Walls are thin. Someone in a room adjacent was playing music at 5 am without headphones. Their choice (inconsiderate? yeah) but they probably weren’t expecting anyone to hear it. It’s been 1-1.5 hours of early morning music and we tried to notify hotel staff. We could have been hit by a car that sped around a blind corner on the walk to the beach. We later saw a couple on electric scooters who could have been hit as well. In each case, only a few seconds made the difference. There should be signage - Stop or Yield to Peds etc. to slow cars/drivers and warn others . And possibly a mirror so drivers or peds can see people are walking/driving. No pool service. You have to go to the front desk to order drinks and walk them back. Agree. Sink is small plus at the entrance to your room and not IN the bathroom. Agree. Not really anywhere to sit. Plus on the first floor you cannot open your shades for sunlight and view because it’s a fishbowl/no privacy. Still I am giving it 3 stars which may seem surprising! Update - Husband who got up to work reports “No one at the front desk…card doesn’t work to get in”. I also sent a text and no reply. Hence the 2 stars for Service! It’s not that staff are not nice.

This is a nice place in a great location. Very clean and the staff is pleasant. The room is immaculate and the fire pits at night are awesome. However. We paid a lot extra for a room with a king size bed. When we finally went to bed I felt like I was inverted. I couldn’t get comfortable and literally had my head sunk into the headboard. This really put a damper on the whole experience and I kind of feel cheated. If the bed was comfortable it would have easily been a five star review.
